Traditional base for compounding suppositories. Consists of fats derived from seeds of the cacao ("chocolate bean") plant. The fat is a mixture of glycerides such as stearin, palmitin, olein, and others. Melting point is close to body temperature.

A blended suppository base containing various molecular weight polyethylene glycols in a homogenous, blended, proprietary formulation with polysorbate 80, an emulsifying agent that also improves mold release characteristics. PEGBLEND™ has excellent room temperature stability because of its high melting point. Water soluble: releases active ingredients upon dissolution. MP: 55 - 60°C.
